White lines are scratched and drawn across a deep black ground in this dramatic monochrome work — parallel horizontal strokes give way to angular geometric forms and a broad sweeping arc. The marks have the quality of a drawing on a blackboard, or incisions made into dark paint, revealing the lighter surface beneath. The effect is both raw and precise.
