Cauldon Ceramics Limited Edition Ian Mcintyre Brown Betty 4 Cup Teapot With Infuser is the Brown Betty redrawn. Ceramicist Ian McIntyre worked with Cauldon Ceramics to re-engineer the 250-year-old design, and the result was nominated for Beazley Designs of the Year 2018 at the Design Museum.
Product Highlights & Features
- What he changed: A locking lid, revived from a 1920s patent, so it will not fall out mid-pour. A redesigned non-drip spout. A recessed foot so the pots stack for storage.
- Built-in tea basket: The removable infuser lets you brew loose leaf and lift the leaves out at the right moment, instead of letting the pot stew.
- Size: A 4-cup pot, 36 fl oz - enough for two people over a long morning, or four cups round a table.
About Cauldon Ceramics: Cauldon Ceramics is the oldest surviving maker of the Brown Betty teapot in Britain, working from Stoke-upon-Trent. The McIntyre edition is made on the same site, from the same Etruria Marl red clay, by the same hands as the traditional pot.
British Food Supplies sources and imports products directly from the UK for customers buying British favourites in the USA.
