Embrace - VanW

A winged figure leans in over a second figure whose head is turned away, the two of them locked together at the shoulder. A pale grey-green wing curves down the right side of the picture, and everything else - skin, hair, the cloth wrapped round the hips - is carried in ochre, umber and cream against near black.

Mixed media on canvas, the ground scraped and scumbled and the figures built up in warm glazes. VanW works in mixed media in France and paints the human body for its own sake. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
