Fico porpora - Maria Emanuela Fiori

A fig cut in half hangs at the centre of a pale green ground, its inside painted as red and orange strands around a cream rim. Whole figs, some still green, some turning purple, hang around it on ochre branches, and large heart-shaped leaves in yellow and olive fill the lower half of the sheet.

Gouache on paper, laid on in flat washes with the outlines drawn in over the colour. Maria Emanuela Fiori is an Italian illustrator, born and living in Sardinia, who works in dense gouache and takes her forms from nature. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
