Fried Egg on Pink - Art By Biba

One fried egg fills the middle of a flat rose pink ground. The white has spread out into an uneven lobed shape with browned frilled edges and small clear blisters across it, and the yolk sits high and domed in the centre in deep orange with two hard white highlights on the curve.

Oil on canvas, the yolk glazed up to a gloss against a flat matt ground. Biba Smith is a self-taught painter from London, now living in Hertfordshire, who works mainly in acrylic and takes much of her subject matter from the sky and space.
