Longing - VanW

A figure seen close up tips the head back out of the top of the frame, throat and collarbones lit hard in cream. Four hands cross over the chest and shoulders, fingers spread, belonging to more than one body. A patch of dusty pink shows at the upper left; the rest is brown and near black.

Mixed media on canvas, the ground scraped and scumbled and the figure built up in warm glazes. VanW works in mixed media in France and paints the human body for its own sake. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
