Pomegranates lie cut open across a pale mint ground, the seeds inside painted as pink and red teardrops packed into green pith and the dried crowns still on the ends. Loose seeds are scattered over the whole sheet, and long leaves in green, ochre and brown lie between the fruit, each drawn with a fine outline.

Gouache on paper, laid on in flat washes with the outlines drawn in over the colour. Maria Emanuela Fiori is an Italian illustrator, born and living in Sardinia, who works in dense gouache and takes her forms from nature. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
