Rise - VanW

A woman pushes up out of a tangle of bodies, head tipped back and one arm raised with the fist closed. Two other figures are folded around her below, their backs and shoulders catching the same gold light, and the rest of the canvas is a dark brown worked with a dry brush.

Mixed media on canvas, the ground scraped and scumbled and the figures built up in warm glazes. VanW works in mixed media in France and paints the human body for its own sake. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
