Standing Angel - VanW

A winged man stands with his head bowed and both hands turned open at his sides, lit from the front so his chest and thighs come up gold against a dark green-brown ground. One long white wing is spread wide to the left, the other folded close behind him, and a patch of warm ochre marks the floor under his feet.

Mixed media on canvas, the ground scraped and scumbled and the figure built up in warm glazes. VanW works in mixed media in France and paints the human body for its own sake. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
