Stay - VanW

Four or five figures sit pressed together in a single knot at the centre of the canvas, legs and bare feet spilling out towards the viewer and one hand reaching past a shoulder. Cloth and skin are carried in the same cream and ochre, so the group reads as one mass, and everything around it is dark brown.

Mixed media on canvas, the ground scraped and scumbled and the figures built up in warm glazes. VanW works in mixed media in France and paints the human body for its own sake. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
