The Age - VanW

An older man is curled into a ball on the ground, knees drawn up to his chest and his head pushed down between them so the face is hidden. The whole back is lit in ochre and cream, the shins and one bare foot catch the same light, and the ground behind is a dark red-brown worked over with a dry brush.

Mixed media on canvas, the ground scraped and scumbled and the figure built up in warm glazes. VanW works in mixed media in France and paints the human body for its own sake. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
