The mushroom's envy of the toad - Luigi Monti

A great dane and a shaggy young man in a yellow shirt and green cap face each other against a ground of spiralling yellow, pink, green and red. Each holds up a glass jar: the dog a red fly agaric with a face, the man a green tree frog. Both have rainbow-striped pupils, and green drool runs from the dog's mouth.

Luigi Monti is an Italian painter based in Ancona who moved from abstraction to figurative work and in 2018 began the style he calls Pop Art Psy, mixing pop animation imagery with psychedelia.
