A white goose stands at the head of a linen-covered dining table and stares straight out, its orange beak level with the two place settings. Beside it a grey stoneware vase holds burgundy, white and yellow zinnias, and a wine glass lies toppled on the cloth. Bentwood chairs flank the table, and behind rises a peeling plaster wall patched with blue, ochre and deep red and stencilled leaves. Orange webbed feet show below the hem.
