An October birthday - Mariam De Giorgio

Three lit candles rise from a scrolled brass candelabra, their flames burning white and gold against a deep purple-blue dark. Behind them a wine glass catches the light in bright streaks, and a pale balustrade runs across the right. Strings of pastel bunting in pink, mint, yellow and green hang overhead, painted in thick, unblended strokes that let the candle glow spill into the shadows.
