Fried Egg on Blue - Art By Biba

One fried egg lies across a flat turquoise ground. The white has spread wide and uneven with a thin browned rim all the way round, grey shadows pooling in the folds, and the yolk sits slightly off centre, orange shading to red at the base with a single white highlight.

Oil on canvas, the yolk glazed up to a gloss against a flat matt ground. Biba Smith is a self-taught painter from London, now living in Hertfordshire, who works mainly in acrylic and takes much of her subject matter from the sky and space.
