Geranium Door - Cristina Iacob

A panelled door painted in worn greens and turquoise fills most of the picture, its brass handle and letter plate dulled. A basket of geraniums hangs above it at the left, the flowers in coral, salmon and deep pink over round green leaves, and the rough grey stone of the wall shows down the right-hand edge.

Oil on canvas, the flaking paint built up in layers and scraped back. Cristina Iacob is a painter and art conservator in Suceava, Romania, whose work draws on nature, memory and the traditions of Bukovina. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
