Neo Vincent - Dikhotomy
Van Gogh's self-portrait, repainted from the collar down. The grey felt hat, the green-eyed stare and the copper beard are all there, built from the same short restless strokes against a stippled blue-green ground. Below them he wears a red track jacket, three white stripes running down each sleeve and the trefoil at the chest, over a blue and white striped shirt. The red is the only warm mass in the picture and pulls the whole portrait forward.
Dikhotomy paints in a digital oil technique that carries the directional stroke of the original all the way through, so the modern garment is made of the same brushwork as the face. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
