A woman's head is turned up and to the right with a broad band tied over her eyes, her lips parted. Around her, ribbons of turquoise, teal, cream and dark brown coil out across a near-black ground, some ending in feathers and spirals, and a red zigzag runs down through the middle of the picture like a fault line.

Oil on canvas, the ribbons laid in long continuous strokes over a dark ground. Cristina Iacob is a painter and art conservator in Suceava, Romania, whose work draws on nature, memory and the traditions of Bukovina. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
